Fergus Lions 2020 Home and Garden Show – Cancelled
Following Announcement of COVID – 19
Measures by Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health.
Following the direction announced by the Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health and guidelines issued by Health Canada regarding major events, we are cancelling the Fergus Lions Home and Garden Show (May 6, 7, 8, 2020) in order to help reduce possible risk regarding the spread of Covid-19/Corona Virus. Our highest priority is the health and safety of our guests, our exhibitors, our suppliers and our show team that we have made this difficult decision.
The Show is a major fundraiser for our club and will have an impact on our fundraising dollars for this year and next. In our run of 42 years this is the first time that the Show has been completely cancelled.
We regret any inconvenience that this may cause.
For those exhibitors who have made payments cheques will be issued to you in the near future. Please bear with us as we work through this situation.
We wish everyone good health and look forward to seeing everyone
May 5, 6, & 7th, 2021
for our 43rd Annual Fergus Lions Home Show.
Please feel free to contact us for any further information.
How it Began
The year was 1978 and this event has been held successfully on an annual basis growing in size and stature each year. In 2016 the Show hosted over 150 Exhibitors with over 200 booths. Along the way, the Club introduced a Friday Night Fish Fry catered this year by the Fergus Curling Club, serving Georgian Bay whitefish. A popular seating arrangement allowed Exhibitors to eat early in order to return to their booths for opening on the final night of the Show.
The show runs Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 5:30 until 9:30 PM May 8th, 9th and 10th in 2019. We promote the show throughout Wellington County and surrounding municipalities using community TV, radio and print media and to ensure complete coverage, we distribute a 12 page flyer to 48,000 homes. Space is made available for exhibitors to participate with us.
Admission to the Show is free. The public is encouraged to make a contribution to the Local Food Bank.
An Exhibitors Application is on the web site with pricing and other terms of participation.
